À la une, a series of 90 books, will entertain, captivate and motivate all grades 4 to 12 students, including struggling students. This series can be used for reading circles, team work and independent reading. The texts are captivating and have been designed to capture the interest of boys.

The series includes multidisciplinary links to science, history, geography, careers and professions, health and personal development and arts.

The magazine format of the books allows for the study of a variety of text forms.

Each book includes the following five features:

• Warm Up is a thought-provoking feature that allows students to access prior knowledge.
• FYI captures students’ interest by providing additional information.
• Web Connections allows students to integrate new technologies into their learning.
• Wrap Up suggests activities related to the texts and promotes cooperative learning and cooperation. This feature allows students to explore a question related to the text and asks a second question aimed at improving students’ understanding either orally, through discussion or in writing.
• The Checkpoints feature provides students with the opportunity to clarify their ideas and improve their thinking.
