Splash is a new series of captivating, interactive books that have been designed for the purpose of reading to young children.
Splash supports teachers and parents in helping children as they:
• acquire new vocabulary;
• achieve an understanding of the concept of print;
• acquire language and critical thinking skills;
• learn to recognize letters and acquire phonemic awareness;
• achieve an understanding of stories.
Splash also offers:
•a variety of wonderful characters;
•instructions to help students visualize the stories;
•instructions and songs that include action words;
•depth and length of text that correspond to children’s attention span.
The series contains two sets comprised of :
- 20 big books for group reading
- 20 small books that students can take home and read with their parents
- An audio CD with songs, music and an audio version of the stories
- Each book comes with a storyboard. Students can manipulate a story’s illustrations and place them in sequence. The storyboard allows students to retell the story in their own words.
